ROAD to Aging Gracefully

Standing for Rural Outreach to enhance Adult Dignity, the ROAD to Aging Gracefully program is designed to keep the older adult population stronger and enable them to remain in their homes longer; by providing free education on today’s health concerns from eye health to Alzheimer’s disease. In addition, MCHS has added low cost exercise classes with specialized focus on older adults to strengthen their home independence and increase their life skills within the community. (*All ROAD programs are held at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home Commons, Starbuck, MN)

The next ROAD program will be July 26th at 4 p.m. in the Commons. The topic will be "Physical Therapy ~ Is It For You?" presented by Neil Feist, Physical Therapist for Big Stone Therapies and Minnewaska Therapy.

Neil will cover a wide variety of topics including when therapy is indicated, how it works and payment sources.  Physical therapy includes services that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of people suffering from injuries or disease.

Therapy can be provided on an inpatient or outpatient basis.  The overall goal is to help people be as independent as possible and confident in their overall functional mobility.

Please join us on July 26th at 4 p.m. for this informative program!

Community Outreach Exercise Program

Community Exercise Program is now open to the public!  Join us for community classes at 1:00 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  These classes are FREE and all equipment is provided.
